The friezes are a great alternative to decorate and insulate the house. There are several types of friezes that we can choose depending on the area in which we want to install them. The wooden friezes are the most classic. They are excellent insulators and provide a homey nuance that others of friezes do not get. Within the wooden friezes we can choose different shades, whether dark or light. We choose the wood that we choose we will have to varnish it every two or three years. Any type of wood needs adequate maintenance, in addition to some humidity to conserve this material.

Step 1: First of all, we remove all the elements that may bother us such as plugs, switches, decorative motifs and baseboards. To take off the ornamental pieces and the baseboard, we will help with a spatula and the hammer. If the wall where we want to work has skirting, we remove it with the help of a spatula.

Step 2: We measure the points of the wall where we will place the slats. These strips will help us to match the wall. We must place them at a certain distance so that the air circulates between the wall and the wood and thus avoid possible humidity.

Step 3: Cut the slats to the desired height. Cut all the frieze boards to the same height

Step 4: We give mounting adhesive with the silicone applicator gun and begin to place the first strips,. It is convenient to mark the position of the battens on the wall.We apply the silicone on one side of the slats along its surface.

Step 5: When we have put the first row, we continue placing more rows of slats. It is necessary to leave a small space between the pieces of wood so that the air can circulate and the humidity does not condense.

Step 6: Using an adhesive (insulating tape) we place some longitudinal pieces of auction around the boxes of plugs and switches that we can have in the wall and thus delimit for their subsequent placement

Step 7: We stick the wooden slats on the wall. We let dry

Step 8: Apply the silicone with the gun on the surface of the slats and stick the wooden sheets vertically. We pressed hard for a few seconds the area where we applied the silicone

Step 9: We apply the silicone on the gluing surface of the embellisher and we paste it on the base and on the upper part of the frieze.
